Chickpeas is a non-profit, parent-run cooperative established in 1981 and located in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide a child-centered learning experience for children 2 years and 9 months to 5 years of age that engenders creativity, child development and social values through interactive play. We are also committed to creating a student, teacher and family environment that reflects the diversity of our community, which includes race, culture, ethnic background, family structure, financial status, age, gender and language.

A key tenet of maintaining our socio-economic diversity is to ensure that our services are both accessible and affordable to families. In order to maintain program affordability, we rely upon a combination of grants, tuition, in-kind goods & services and donations.
